USA vs. Brazil, 2024 Friendly: Key Highlights to Look Forward To
A chance to put on a better performance against one of the best teams on the planet.
The U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) looks to regroup tomorrow evening when they face Brazil in Orlando. This is their final friendly before they kick off their Copa America group stage later this month.
The USMNT needs to deliver a better showing than they did over the weekend, where they lost to Colombia 5-1, causing concern among fans. Adding to this anxiety is Brazil coming to town with a roster that would make any team on the planet question themselves. The United States must prove they can compete with teams like this, and after failing the test over the weekend, they have another shot at success.

What to Watch For
– Don’t Get Lost in the Aura: Brazil’s presence on the field can make some of the best players stand in awe. Of course, that’s when Brazil will try to blow past you for a memorable goal. The USMNT needs to focus and play without getting caught up in the aura of Brazil’s greatness.
– Show Resilience: Teams that go straight at Brazil and try to punch them in the mouth generally have more success than those that sit back and let Brazil come to them. Show some grit and heart, and you might be able to steal a result.
– Avoid Reckless Mistakes: It goes without saying that Brazil thrives on reckless errors. Avoiding these at all costs limits the opportunities you give to Brazil, and every time you give them a chance, they seem to capitalize.
Predicted Lineup
There will likely be some changes, but coach Gregg Berhalter will probably field a lineup similar to the one that started against Colombia.
– Goalkeeper: Matt Turner returns between the sticks.
– Defense: The backline consists of Antonee Robinson at left-back and Joe Scally at right-back. Miles Robinson and Chris Richards start as center-backs.
– Midfield: Johnny Cardoso starts again, with Tyler Adams coming in as a substitute. Weston McKennie and Gio Reyna will also be in the midfield.
– Attack: Ricardo Pepi gets the nod at the 9, with Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah on the wings.
Prediction
Brazil wins 3-1.
